關於國立臺北藝術大學藝術與科技中心  About Center for Art and Technology, TNUA

藝術與科技整合的時代來臨，並已成為當代文化的重要領航方向；國立臺北藝術大學為發展此一全球性趨勢，於1992年成立全臺第一個「科技藝術研究中心」，為擴大研究發展範疇，於2006年更名為「藝術與科技中心」，扮演了臺灣在藝術與科技領域的開發整合，並與國際間多項聯結的重要角色。本中心下設多個實驗室（現有「未來聲響實驗室」、「超領域媒體實驗室」、「超通訊視覺實驗室」、「感知介面實驗室」等），除積極推動臺灣數位科技在藝術領域之前瞻性研究與創作，主要目標乃充分支援科技藝術展演活動與聯結平臺，帶動臺灣科技藝術相關研究與創作。本中心不但是臺北藝術大學的重要特色之一，更試圖創造藝術與科技相互交融的全面性跨域發展，開創「未來藝術」的新可能。

The age of the integration of art and technology has arrived and it has become an important trend for contemporary culture. In keeping with this global trend, the Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA) set up the first Research Center for Technological Art in Taiwan in 1992. In order to expand the scope of its research and development, it was renamed the Center for Art and Technology in 2006. It plays a major role in developing and integrating the fields of art and technology in Taiwan and establishing links with international institutions.

Various laboratories have been established under this center (including the Trans-Sonic Lab., the Trans-Disciplinary Media Lab., the Ultra-Communication Vision Lab. and the Tangible Interface Lab.). In addition to actively promoting the advanced research and application of digital technology in the art field in Taiwan, its main objectives are to support technological art exhibitions and events, establish links with other platforms and promote the research and creation of Taiwanese technological art. As an important feature of the TNUA, this center attempts to promote the comprehensive interdisciplinary development of the merging of art and technology and create new possibilities for a “future art”.
